How to get Spotify on your Amazon Echo smart speaker. Open the Alexa app linked to your Echo device on your phone. Now head over to the Settings Menu. Select the ‘Music’ option. Tap on the ‘Link New Service’ button. This will bring up a list of services. There you need to tap on Spotify. Amazon's intelligent personal assistant is called Alexa. - The Studio itself has good crisp treble, and respectable bass, but is let down by the apparently very poor current implementation of Echo device management firmware and control both from the Alexa, and the Amazon Music apps. - The instructions that are given online are incorrect: they say to go into 'Music, Video & Books' to set it up. Going there is what yields this error ('App support unavailable'). The solution is to go into Settings, then under Accounts go into Music & Media, then connect into Spotify there.
- Loving my new stereo pair of Sonos One’s. I can’t quite get Spotify working correctly. The account is linked to Alexa. I can request albums or songs or shuffled artist and they all play from Spotify. However, I can’t get my playlists to play. Alexa says she can’t find them. And in the Alexa app under Spotify it says App Support Unavailable.

Alexa Cast is a new feature that Amazon has pushed out to its Music apps and the Echo smart speakers. It allows you to have an Amazon equivalent to Google Cast and Apple AirPlay, so you can play. There is no Spotify option. I have to say that i am in Switzerland where the Echo isn't available officially yet. Does somebody has an idea how i can make spotify work? Thanks:-) Update: I was on support chat with Amazon and they told me they need to change the device to germany because my Amazon account is 'german'. Waiting for the change now.
Spotify Free Users can now start streaming through their Bose smart speakers and soundbars as well. Through Spotify Connect, you can use Spotify on your smartphone or desktop as a remote to get the jams going.
To play music using your Smart Speaker through Spotify Connect, first make sure that your Sonos or Bose system is updated to the latest firmware. Update June 23, 2020: Starting today, Spotify Free users in the U.K., Ireland, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Spain, Japan, and Mexico, will begin to be able to stream Spotify through Amazon Alexa. Both Spotify Free and Premium users in India will also be able to stream Spotify through Amazon Alexa for the first time.
